Do you know someone who struggles with reading and writing? Maybe they didn't get the chance to learn these essential skills at school - and would like some help now to make up for lost time?
Our tutor Anne runs a class on Thursday mornings at the Somerville Community House. Anne works with small groups of adults, or one to one, to help people develop confidence and improve their reading and writing skills.
If you know someone who might be interested in joining, or you would like to check session times, just call the Community House on 5977 8330 or 0438 241 134. Cost is $3 per session. Bring a pen and some paper - and come along and get started.
The Somerville Community House is fortunate to have a Community Garden organised by friendly and passionate people who love to share their knowledge. A number of garden beds have been set up so a variety of vegetable and herbs can be planted.
The produce is shared and extras sold for a gold coin donation to participants at Community House.
The group meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the warmer months, usually in the mornings. New members are always welcome.
The group has just recieved a grant of $1250 from the Peninsula Quarries to put towards raised beds suitable for wheel chair access.
If you would like to be a part of this friendly group, contact the Community House on 5977 8330 today.
The Community House Annual General Meeting took place on 20/9/2019 @ 10.00am.
